Everything is growing steadily–even the blackberries creeping over our western fence. We’ll take the berries, at least! We got our first fig since the move. Last year, most of our fruit trees were pretty traumatized by the move, and a few of them died. But this year, the survivors have some good fruit on them and we’re looking forward to decent harvests of apples and figs from our decade-or-so old trees. A little break in the hot weather gave some of our plants a respite from thirst as we continue to work to get our irrigation system dialed in. The zucchini is coming on strong, and it’s hard to keep up with, even though we meet twice a week! It’s about time to comb the Internets for creative uses for zucchini again…
